The Classic in The Palm Beaches is proud to honor Mrs. Victoria Kingdom with the establishment of the Victoria Kingdom Collegiate Golf Scholarship. This scholarship, which will be awarded to two high school seniors graduating in 2024, celebrates Mrs. Kingdom and her lifetime commitment in inspiring and teaching golf to young people. These scholarships will support Black/African and Hispanic/LatinX students, with a preference given to those who have an interest in, have worked in or plan a career related to golf.
Mrs. Kingdom and her husband, Joseph, joined the Fairview Golf Club in 1979, and she ran its Junior Golf Program for many years. A trailblazer, she was the first Black woman to work as a locker room attendant at PGA National Resort. She recognizes the ability of golf to connect people, provide a strong foundation of positive competitiveness, and foster good sportsmanship and teamwork – valuable skills to position youth for success in life, especially those in under-represented communities.
